Washington Monthly ​profiled F. King Alexander, president and chancellor of the Louisiana State University system and a WISCAPE affiliate, in a recent article which explores his views on higher education. Alexander also is an alumnus of UW-Madison who earned his Ph.D. from the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis. Titled, “Can This Man Save the Public University?” the article focuses on how Alexander is advocating for more federal regulation of public universities to prevent states from continuing to slash their higher education budgets.

The Capital Times earlier this month posted an article highlighting some anti-poverty policies advocated for by UW-Madison’s Sara Goldrick-Rab and graduate student Katharine M. Broton. Goldrick-Rab is a professor of educational policy studies and sociology, and is the director and founder of the Wisconsin HOPE Lab, which is the only laboratory in the nation dedicated to translational research for improving equitable outcomes in postsecondary education.
