In a recent Chicago Tribune article, UW-Madison’s Nick Hillman discusses Roosevelt University’s $123 million Wabash building. Since it’s opening in 2012, the 32-story building has served as a social and academic space for students. However, the $123 million investment is now putting the university in a risky financial situation. To justify how it could afford the building, Roosevelt predicted increased enrollment and increased tuition revenue from $90 million to $130 million. "It seems like a pretty high risk, that 'if you build it, they will come' mentality," said Hillman.
