According to the Fairhaven Lecture Series page, "The Wisconsin Idea is a unique and long-standing principle of the University of the Wisconsin System, a tradition of community engagement that guides our work beyond the boundaries of our campus, and the promise that the university makes to the state to improve the lives of all Wisconsin residents."

"Lectures in our spring series will explore how UW-Whitewater faculty and students share their expertise and resources in areas as diverse as science, technology, health, business and the environment."
