Julie Minikel-LacocqueJoin the Wisconsin Center for the Advancement of Postsecondary Education (WISCAPE) for a discussion with Julie Minikel-Lacocque, assistant professor of education at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, about her newly published book, Getting College Ready: Latin@ Student Experiences of Race, Access, and Belonging a‚Äčt Predominantly White Institutions.

Through the lens of six Latin@ students and their experiences at a predominantly white institution (PWI), Minikel-Lacocque takes an in-depth look at college access, retention, and success for underrepresented students and examines how PWIs do or do not respond to their needs. This presentation and discussion will include theoretical and practical applications of the study’s main findings.
